Christmas Stuff Christmas is over. Hooray! I'm so glad it only comes once a year. I couldn't stand it any more often... or afford it. Daryl got me a new Mercedes Lackey book I wanted, the last Enya CD that came out, and one of those "Lucky Bamboo" plants that are in a little pot with stones and water in it and three bamboo plants tied together. My mother, in a huge labor of love, cross-stitched two absolutely beautiful Feng-Shui pictures. One is longevity and the other is balance. She said she worked on it every night for three months... each. And then my parents took them and had them professionally framed. When I unwrapped them, I could've sworn that she bought them, they were that perfect. My dad, in another labor of love, took a table he had bought at a yard sale that was pretty sad looking and took it apart, got all the glue off it that some guy used to try to glue it back together, sanded it down, put it back together and put layers of varnish on it until it shined. My mom said he worked hours on it. It's truly beautiful. There's just something to be said for real furniture. Real being furniture that isn't made from pressed wood pulp or something. So far I've gotten a bookcase, an over the toilet, floor to ceiling cabinet and shelf thing that I can't recall the name of, and this table that my dad has built for me.

Words and Phrases That Shouldn't Exist There are a couple of phrases that I get so sick of hearing, especially at work, that I could scream. The first one is "You know what I'm saying," usually said as "y'know what'm sayin'," and inserted in the middle of or at the end of sentances or phrases, pretty much indiscriminately, y'know what'm sayin'? The other one is "Girl" or "Girlfriend," said in a long drawn out manner with a rising inflection toward the end and with an air of "Oh, I feel your pain" added in and perhaps a "Mmmm" in front of it. Generally said when it seems as if any other comment would take too much effort.
Example: "I think I'm going to go to McDonald's for lunch." "Mmmm, girrrrrlllll."
"My boyfriend left me yesterday." "Mmmm, girlfriend."
"I think aliens abducted me and conducted experiments on me last night." "Mmmm, girrrrrlllll."
I so need a new job...

Comments With my husband's help, the comments now work. I know from looking in the directory the comments are stored in that no one has tried to leave any comments, because all the test comments I left were there, but no others. Come on. I know people are looking at my page. The counter keeps going up. My husband gets comments on his page... why not mine? Give it a try. You might like it.
Update From boredom and lack of anything else to do, I spent part of today updating my Interests page. I've added sections on music, art, and games. Also, I'm going to go into my blogger and remove the comments until I can figure out how to get them to work.

Comments All this time I thought people weren't leaving comments on my page. Now I realize that it doesn't appear to be working. Of course, that still doesn't mean people were trying to leave comments on my page...
Sigh I'm depressed today. There's news, eh? I'm not going to go into all the reasons. They'll just sound petty and self-indulgent. Pardon me, I'm going to go mope now.

EQ My fourth day without EverQuest and I'm bored out of my mind. Not because I miss EQ all that much... it's just that I don't really have anything else to do, and I'm tired of watching TV. *yawn*

Wednesday, December 12

Video Card Well, looks like I won't be playing EQ for a while. After talking to four different tech support people on the phone, and playing e-mail tag with them when I wasn't on the phone, my video card remains unfixed. We tried old drivers, new drivers, reinstalling DirectX, changing the IRQ ports... nothing has worked. I'm either going to have to keep playing with my onboard card, or take it to a shop like Best Buy or the computer store down the street to see if there's anything I can do.

Yet more money spent on a stupid game. I'm thinking about giving it up for a while. I'm spending money I can't afford. Maybe I'll try a new game or something.

Christmas My mother gave me an early Christmas present today. A beautiful table that my dad made. He spent a lot of time on it. She gave it to us early because I needed a table for our fiber optic Christmas tree. Merry Christmas to us!

More About Cars I'm on the phone holding for tech support and a call comes in on call waiting. It's my mother. "I need you to come with me." "Come with you where?" "Your father's been in an accident and I want you to come with me." She's going to come get me she says. So I start pulling on my shoes and getting ready to go. She didn't tell me if he was okay, so at this point I'm pretty freaked out.

He's okay. His car is pretty bad. Somebody stopped in the middle of the road and caused a three car pile-up, which, of course, the idiot that stopped in the middle of the road was not involved in. He or she is long gone. Everyone was okay. One of the ladies in the middle car was pregnant. My dad has a big bruise on his tummy where he hit the steering wheel, even though the air bags came out, and a cut on his hand from the air bags. Once he found out everyone was okay, I think he was most upset about his car. It was a nice car. A nice Lincoln Continental, white with red leather interior. He still owes two years on it. The guys at the body shop said the frame might not be bent, so maybe they can fix it.
Christmas Spirit I was driving around the major shopping area closest to my home, trying to get to and from school today, and I was struck by the abundance of the Christmas spirit I saw everywhere... or perhaps I should specifiy the lack of the Christmas spirit. The "me first" attitude is in overwhelming abundance everywhere I turn, manifesting itself a great deal in peoples driving manners. You definitely need to be on the defensive during this time of year. People cut in front of you without turn signals, or pull out in front of you with little room to spare so you must slam on your brakes.. and you might as well pretend yield signs are non-existant, because they may as well be. Christmas... bah humbug.

Tech Support I'm on the phone right now with EQ tech support... or rather, on the machine that tells me to hold every two minutes. The hold music is kinda lame by the way. I think they're just toying with me and making me hold for no reason, in the hopes that I'll hang up and they won't have to deal with anyone. Not to mention ringing up all the minutes on my cell phone that I'm calling with. Again I say, bah humbug.

EQ Thought Here's a thought. If you don't play EverQuest, just ignore this message and move on. Anyway, this thought occured to me yesterday while I was playing my enchanter: "If I'm in skeleton form, and someone casts Invisibility vs. Undead on themselves, would I be able to see them?"
More EQ Problems Big surprise, eh? Well, my husband saved up and gave me the money to buy a new video card for a Christmas present since I've been having problems with EQ using my onboard video card. We went and got a GeForce 2 MX400 with 64 onboard memory and put it in... and surprise, surprise, the same problem I was having with my old video card, a 3D Prophet II MX. The screen looks cut up and garbeled, and the mouse leaves little trails whenever I move it that fill up the screen. And I'm not going through the hassle of taking the card back out so I can play tonight, since I'm going to try to call tech support tomorrow. I tried calling tonight and got a busy signal for about an hour. I tried calling until the time they closed for the day with no luck.

So tell me, with all the grief I get from EQ and all the money I have and continue to invest in it, why do I bother?

Another Poem I wrote a free-verse poem a while back, it was before September 11th, and I never got around to putting it up in my poem section. So until then, here it is.

I'm Tired

I'm tired of the hypocrisy of those who are so sure they are better than you;
I'm tired of big guys beating up on the little guys... just because they can;
I'm tired of the stupid;
I'm tired of the ignorant;
I'm tired of the close-minded;
I'm tired of those who are so sure that they are right, and I'm not;
I'm tired of people who won't even consider that maybe I'm right, too;
I'm tired of people thinking that walls and ceilings and possessions are more important than trees and sky and people;
I'm tired of those who put money and profit margins above people's well being;
I'm tired of working at a dead-end job for a company I hate with people I can't respect just because I don't have a degree yet so I must not be qualified for anything better, right?
I'm tired of going to school with people that don't realize how wonderful it is to be educated;
I'm tired of people not realizing just how lucky they are;
I'm tired of seeing people that take advantage of others make it big while the nice guys struggle to get by;
I'm tired of people thinking chivalry is dead and that being polite is pointless;
I'm tired of people catering to the lowest common denominator because it's easier than making the standards higher;
I'm tired of people not being able to have rights unless they can afford a lawyer to defend them;
I'm tired of people putting God in a box, instead of realizing that God is bigger than any box;
I'm tired of racism, greed, selfishness, antagonism, condescention, smugness, intolerance, bigotry, and jealousy
But most of all...
I'm just tired.
But First, A Po-em Here's a poem my husband wrote about Christmas. It's the most wonderful time of the year, heh.

It's Christmas time, it's Christmas time
And once again we hear
From all around, the saccharine sound
Of imitation cheer
As one more time we brace ourselves
For what we're going to face
It's an obscene commercial scheme
A national disgrace

We gather 'round our families
With all our petty rifts
Assaulting one another
With retalliatory girfts
You fake a grin at Auntie Gwen
Suspecting you'll recieve...
For goodness sake! The same fruitcake
You gave last Christmas Eve!

The trendy toys are over-priced
But still you'll buy them all
And as you get submerged in debt
Down at the shopping mall
You'll be polite to pompous jerks
You know you prob'ly will
And deep inside, you'll try to hide
The urge to kill, kill, KILL!
EverQuest: The Saga Continues I finally was able to get the patches downloaded. I tried to play EQ, and guess what, my video card still doesn't work. So I am stuck with using my onboard card still. And since it doesn't have any onboard memory, I had to share memory with it, which reduces my available RAM... so I can't see any of the character models. Everything is really laggy, and its driving me batty. Time to visit pricewatch.com for some more memory. I've been told I look hot though.

EverQuest I bought the new expansion for EQ today. I'm sure it'll be fun... when I eventually get it to work. I went to the local Best Buy to pick it up, went back to the Computer Games section, and looked at the EverQuest section... and no Shadows of Luclin. So I found a sales person and asked her if they had it. She promptly told me, in utter seriousness "It's not available in stores. You have to order it online." Well, you and I both know that's a load of crap. EQ fans everywhere have been waiting for today and were at the stores as soon as they opened to buy it. I told her it was due to come out today, and she just repeated what she had told me. So I said okay and left... and went to Media Play. As soon as I walked in, there was a display with a huge stack of the expansion, and even though it was marked 29.99, it rang up 24.99. Oh well, if Best Buy doesn't want my money, screw 'em.

You know, with all the problems and frustration EQ gives me, sometimes I wonder why I bother. But, despite myself, I still have spent 20 dollars on the original EQ, 40 on Kunkar, 20 on Velious, and another 30 on the new expansion today. Plus the 10 dollar a month fee over the past two years. And don't forget memory upgrades and a new video card just so I could play EQ better, faster, longer. And, of course, there's the patches. Always the patches. Patches are the bane of my existence with a dial-up modem. Every time there's a major patch, it takes me hours to get it downloaded because my puny little connection isn't able to bully itself into the stream of people trying to download the same thing at the same time. Not to mention the endless problems I have every time they decide to upgrade to a newer version of Direct X.

Today, as all EQers will know, is the "big day". The new expansion, Shadows of Luclin came out today. And so did a major huge patch. So far my patch program is either getting stuck on "Connecting" or "Checking for Updated Files, please wait." After that, it won't do anything, if I'm lucky... if I'm not, it crashes.

If I don't get a fix soon, I'm going into withdrawal.

More Searches I thought I would take some time to put up a few more of the interesting searches that brought people to my site.

  • "Land Rover Discovery" naked
  • ladies sandals usa la
  • muslim nuns
  • "my husband likes to watch" pictures
  • pictures of me naked
  • "stand on my face"
  • circumsized dick pic
  • massages louisville ky
  • male castration pics
  • pictures of allie naked in my car
  • women rule over men
  • girl circumsized photo
  • I want to smell your feet
  • anal sex pictures for outlook express
  • "my pictures" topless "without permission"
  • "pictures of me and my husband" sex

I still think its rather funny some of the things that people come up with. I didn't realize Outlook Express had its very own anal sex pictures. Silly me.
EverQuest My druid on EQ, Willowsong, finally got to 51 about a week ago. Now I've been working on my epic quest, but the prospects aren't looking so great. I've done most of what I can do by myself, but I don't know if I'm going to be able to organize raids big enough to kill some of the really hard things that need to be killed. Oh well, one step at a time I suppose.

On a side note, the damage done to my car was estimated at around 2100 dollars by the insurance adjustor. My car was taken to the shop Thursday and I should get it back by Wednesday. Until then I'm driving a fun little Pontiac Grand Am.
