New Poem This poem was written by Sarah Ingram, a lady at my father's church, about the terrorist attacks.
September 11, 2001
Cowards hiding behind innocents
Use them to strike their deadly blows.
They leave us all without defense,
Helplessly watching as blood flows.
What was a stately monument
Now collapsed in rubble heap.
Our sense of safety now is bent;
No longer can we, peaceful, sleep.
The terrorists have had their say;
They made horrific impact here.
They caused a devastating day,
Attacking what we hold so dear:
Our freedom to live as we choose,
Our confidence we can exist
In harmony we now do lose.
But at whom do we shake our fist?
We cannot strike out in blind hate--
We do not know who is to blame.
Much now is done, but much too late--
Our peace of mind's gone up in flame.
What can we do in frustration
Against unnamed, unnumbered foe?
We seek our source of salvation
And down upon our knees we go.
We pray for God to intervene
Within the savage hearts of men,
And give us solace now unseen
And heal the bitter souls again.

Annoying Spam It started out as repeated ads for a book. Then, with the terrorists attacks occuring this week, the spam messages become solicitations to hear the author on the radio, and to send out bogus Nostradamus prophecies. Then, other people on the extremely long list of people he has been spamming started replying to these messages to everyone he sent the message out to, instead of just to this guy. I tried sending out a message to just him with no response. I finally sent out a "Reply All" message asking everyone to stop spamming me and to advise them to complain to his service provider. The only reply I got to that was a complaint that I was just sending out messages to innocent people who were also pissed, to write the original author only, and to just dump it to my delete box. I tried emailing him, and I would have only written him only if other people hadn't started butting in and emailing me as well.
If I were ever under the slightest inclination to ever read a book by this guy, that inclination would be gone now. As it is, I'm prepared to launch a complaint to his service provider and never buy any book he has written or will write in the future.

Terrorist Attacks I'm sure everyone is by now aware of the attack that has been made on several of America's important buildings this morning. This is a horrible incident, and I'm appalled at the amount of damage that has been done. I'm hurt when I think of the people who's lives were ended, and those that were injured, and it sickens me to think that some people, namely Palestinians, are celebrating this traumatic event. I would like to ask everyone, regardless of their religious believes, to keep these people, their families, and those working at the scenes in their hearts and minds. I have already lit five candles in honor of these people: white for the souls of the deceased, blue to remind us to look skyward for help, black for maturity, wisdom, and to signify the darkness overshadowing this event, red to send strength to our leaders, and pink for healing and love.

Interesting Google Searches I haven't put any blogger posts up lately, so here's a little tidbit that might be of interest to some of you. I've been checking out how people are getting referred to my webpage about one a week or so. Here's a small list of some of the more... interesting phrases (spelling errors and all) that people have done Google searches on and found me.
Well, that just goes to show what people are interested in these days. Interesting, eh?
On the other hand, it seems that a lot of people have found me by searching for Monty Python skits, Douglas Adams quotes, and various things about the pentagram. Thank goodness there's still people out there on the internet with good taste.
