Bads News, Good News, & More Bad News Wow, it sure has been a long time since I've added to my own website. Which brings to my mind the question "Why should I add to my website when no one else does?" But then, it's my site, right? But I digress. As I said in the header, I have bad news, good news, and more bad news. So first, the bad news. My computer blew up. Well, not in a flaming ball of fire or anything interesting like that, but some of the chips blew out on the motherboard and the power supply went out. For no apparent reason. So now, the good news. I got a new computer. It's a lot nicer than the one I had, which was really old and had been rebuilt a couple of times. And I was able to take out the RAM, the old hard drive, and my Hercules video card and put in the new one (thus invalidating the warranty... oops).
And now for the rest of the bad news. I wrecked my car again. It wasn't totally my fault, and I didn't get a ticket, which is a good thing. And no one was hurt... another good thing. I was driving up I-65, and traffic was at a crawl, as usual. I was speeding up from being at a near-stop when the car in front of me, two car lengths in front of me I think, slammed on her brakes. She was following her friend, who was driving the car in front of her. The friend had to slam on her brakes because the guy in front of her had no brake lights. The lady in front of me was able to stop and I should have been also, I had plenty of room. But when I slammed on my brakes, they must've locked up. The car didn't slow down and I skidded all the way into the car in front of me. I didn't want to hit her full on, and I managed to steer my car as close to the concrete wall on the left as I could so the front right of my car hit the back left of her car. She had a scratched up bumper... my car shattered into pieces. Stupid plexiglass vehicles. Her car needs a new rear bumper... my car neeeds a new bumper, grill, hood, headlight assembly, side panel above the wheel. Hooray for insurance.

Butt Monkeys! This message was posted to a mailing list I'm on shortly after the terrorist attacks. It made me laugh out loud. Something my husband had me listen to earlier today made me think of it, and I wanted to post it on my website.
It still makes me giggle whenever I hear the word "terrorists" and mentally replace it with "butt monkeys".
I think we need a new word besides "terrorists". I think it gives them too much power and credit over the victims. Maybe we should call them the "butt monkeys" or something. No one can be too proud to say they were a butt monkey for their country. Can you imagine their mothers grieving? "He was such a good butt monkey".
