Bah I know I haven't posted anything in a while. I haven't really had anything too post. A lot has gone on in the world of politics, hasn't it? The president not allowing the internation court to try American peace-keepers. The removal of "under god" from our pledge. The brouhau over the income tax here in my home state. I could go on. I could say that I think the president should allow the court to try the peace-keeprs. I could say I support the removal of the phrase from the pledge, after all, that was the way it was originally written. I could say that I support an income tax, because we need the revenue, and it would lower the sales tax. But why bother? Hm... for one thing... I'm not sure if anyone even reads this but me. For another, no matter what I have to say about it, I'm sure someone, somewhere has said it much better than I ever could. My husband for one.
Well, a little update on my personal life. I'm currently at my parents house, house-sitting and grandmother watching while my parents are on vacation with my brother Robin and his three kids. I've been here since Sunday. I brought my computer with me, lest I might die of boredom. So... my parents are on vacation. Some vacation it's turned out to be for them. I got a call from my mother on Monday to tell me my father has had to go to the hospital. At the time, she didn't know what it was that was causing him the agonizing pain he was experiencing with every breath, but now I know. It seems my father had several blood clots that had formed and had gone to his lungs. Apparently, if he hadn't gotten to the hospital when he had, he could've died. As it is, he should be fine, they have him on bloodthinners, and surveillance. Too bad he's not getting to enjoy his time at the beach. It's been such a long time since he was last able to go. The rest of the week is going to go mostly as planned. The plan was, Daryl and I were going to Gatlinburg after work on Friday to meet my parents there and spend a weekend. As it is, since my father isn't getting out of the hospital until Friday at the earliest and more likely on Saturday, Daryl and I will be taking my bestest friend Robbie and the three of us will be going to the condo alone. Mom and Dad will show up whenever they can, and on Monday, Daryl or myself will be driving them home. The doctor's said my dad should be well enough to drive, but I'm sure he'd rather not. Robin will be driving them from the beach to where he lives in Gastonia, and they'll spend the night there, and Dad will drive the rest of the way to Gatlinburg, which isn't but a couple of hours from Robin's.
That's all the excitement that's been going on in my little world these days. I'm going to go play EQ now.
